1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how PayMySkills (“we”, “us”, “the Platform”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information. By using PayMySkills, you consent to the practices described here. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the laws of Pakistan, including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information that you provide and that is generated through your use of the Platform: your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, city, and CNIC number; identity verification images (CNIC photos and a live selfie); your profile details, bio, skills, and service listings; messages, orders, reviews, and ratings; and technical data such as device information and IP address.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: create and manage your account; verify your identity through KYC and prevent fraud; connect clients with freelancers; operate messaging, orders, reviews, and payments; enforce our Terms and keep the Platform safe; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Identity Verification Data
Your CNIC images and selfie are used solely to verify your identity using automated AI checks and, where needed, human review. Once your identity is verified (approved or rejected), these verification images are deleted from our active storage. Your CNIC number is retained for fraud prevention, including to prevent banned users from re-registering.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on private, access-controlled servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption, access controls, and secure authentication to protect your information. While we take strong measures to protect your data, no system is completely immune to risk, and you provide your information at your own acknowledgment of this.
6. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information when necessary: with other users as part of normal Platform use (for example, your public profile, service listings, and reviews are visible to others); with service providers who help us operate the Platform (such as hosting and verification services) under confidentiality obligations; and with law enforcement or courts when legally required.
7. What Other Users Can See
Other users can see your public profile information, including your name, profile photo, city, bio, skills, service listings, ratings, and reviews. Your CNIC, email, phone number, and verification images are never shown to other users.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access and update your profile information at any time through your account settings. You may delete your account, after which your personal information is removed. However, certain records — such as your CNIC for fraud prevention and transaction history for dispute resolution — may be retained as permitted by law.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, personal data is removed, but limited records are retained where required for fraud prevention, legal compliance, and the protection of other users.
10. Cookies & Sessions
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and operate the Platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
11. Children's Privacy
PayMySkills is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we discover that an underage person has created an account, it will be terminated immediately.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. We will notify users of significant changes where possible.
